Gorkha: It sounds strange that a local NGO is going to collect urine of the Maoist cadres and leaders participating in the meeting of the Unified CPN (Maoist) but it is true. Srirendra Pokhrel, coordinator, The SEWA Nepal, a local NGO said, "We are preparing to collect urine of the Maoist cadres and leaders participating in the sixth extended meeting of the Unified CPN (Maoist) to be held in Tandantar of Palungtar VDC, which later will be converted into fertilizer."

Extended Meeting Housing and Construction Sub Committee has constructed more than 200 toilets for the meeting, which will begin from November 21, 2010. "Each toilet has a plastic pan and it costs Rs. 500," said the committee adding, "300 people can use the toilet at the same time."
Prakash Pokhrel, coordinator of the Extended Meeting Health and Sanitation Sub Committee informed that SEWA Nepal is installing 300 funnels and jerrycans to collect urine, which will not only help to manage toilet and control foul odour from the toilets but also convert toilet waste into fertilizer. Unified CPN (Maoist) informed that more than 6,000 Maoist cadres and leaders will participate in the Meeting.
