Additional 15 MLD water within next nine months |

 Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) is all set to supply additional 15 million litres of water daily within the next nine months. The KUKL has aimed to add 15 million litres of water in the existing water supply system to fulfill the daily water demand in the Kathmandu Valley until the completion of the Melamchi Water Supply Project.
The KUKL has aimed to supply additional 60 MLD within the next two years and it will supply 15 MLD in the first phase. Deputy Director of Project Implementation Directorate (PID) KUKL Ghanashyam Bhattarai said that the installation of 15 deep tube wells is in its final phase. According to Bhattarai, the PID is currently constructing deep tube wells in different places of the Kathmandu Valley including Minbhavan, Madhyapur Thimi, Bode, Sankha Park, Bansbari, Dhapasi, Manamaiju, Sangle Khola and Chhauni. “Construction works are almost complete. We have aimed to produce and supply water within the next six months,” he said.
