Khokana (Lalitpur): Infrastructures of development are being constructed in Khokana after Khokana Community Learning Centre and Lumanti Support Group for Shelter jointly started the Khokana Environment Protection and Infrastructure Development Project in March 2006 with financial and technical assistance of UN-HABITAT.

Khokana, a historical Newar village is located about seven kilometers south of Lalitpur Sub-metropolis.
Rajkulo ( a traditional canal) was reconstructed under the project. Altogether, 250 hectares of land including land in ward no. 7 and 8 of Chhampi VDC, ward nos. 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 of Bungmati VDC, ward no. 5 and 9 of Sainbu VDC and all wards of Khokana is being irrigated through the reconstructed 'Rajkulo'. Similarly, seven traditional dugwells and nine traditional ponds have been renovated and cleaned under the project. A community biogas plant has also been constructed which uses the wastewater and sewer from 37 households in ward no.9 to produce bio-gas.
Chief technical advisor of UN-HABITAT Dr. Roshan Raj Shrestha told that some changes are seen in Khokana recently due to the dedication and hard work of locals for development of their area. Earlier, the locals of Khokana did not have facilities of irrigation and garbage management.
