PM's commitment to take immediate steps for sanitation |

 PM being handed over signature collection Kathmandu: Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala told that the government is ready to give importance to the issue of sanitation. Speaking with the representatives of organizations working in the field of drinking water and sanitation who came to submit a memorandum to the PM on the occasion of World Water Day, he expressed commitments to take necessary steps immediately if concrete suggestions are presented before him for the improvement of sanitation condition.
On the occasion, more than 100 thousand signatures collected from 35 districts of the country including three districts of the Kathmandu Valley under Signature Collection Campaign for public pressure to the government was also handed over to the Prime Minister. Representatives of WaterAid Nepal, Nepal water for Health, NGO Forum for Urban Water & Sanitation, Federation of Drinking Water and Sanitation Users' Nepal, Lumanti Support Group for Shelter and Guthi jointly submitted the memorandum to the PM on the occasion of World Water Day which is being celebrated with this year's theme – Sanitation Matters. The representatives of the organizations demanded PM for a master plan on sanitation with necessary policies and extensive programmes with budget for achieving the National Sanitation Goals.
