Kathmandu: Sufficient water does not flow in the famous Baisdhara (22 stone spouts) in Balaju. A religious festival of taking bath in the stonespouts is celebrated every year on the full moon day of Chaitra Sukla Purnima. Dharma Bhattarai of Balaju Garden Office told that there is not sufficient water flow in the spouts as water could not be collected from the pump office and water tanker of the Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL).

The KUKL is preparing to supply water in the Baisdhara by cutting off water supply in different places of the city. As there is less water collection in KUKL's 3.7 million litre reservoir tank, the limited is planning to divert water collected in the tank to the 22 spouts. Only 0.8 million litres of water is collected in the tank till April 19.
Bhattarai told that the office has started to draw water continuously for the past two days to manage sufficient water for the devotees. It is estimated that 150 thousand devotees will observe the festival.
