By: Deepak Singh Dadeldhura: All the 150 households in Dola settlement of Aalitaal-5 have constructed concrete latrines in their houses. Earlier, the villagers used to defecate in the open and there was difficulty in walking on the roads.
A local health worker Sushila Thapa told that that public awareness on sanitation has increased after the construction of latrines by a local NGO Integrated Development Society with support from Ceci Nepal Partnership Project and Oxfam. “We have requested those who cannot afford to construct concrete latrines to defecate in a pit,” said a social worker Tulsi Thapa. Meanwhile, Rajyauda and Dola village has been declared open defecation free zones in midst of a programme on the occasion of 9th National Sanitation Week 2065.
