Settlement clean after construction of toilets Print E-mail

Dadeldhura: All the 150 households in Dola settlement of Aalitaal-5 have constructed concrete latrines in their houses. Earlier, the villagers used to defecate in the open and there was difficulty in walking on the roads.

A local health worker Sushila Thapa told that that public awareness on sanitation has increased after the construction of latrines by a local NGO Integrated Development Society with support from Ceci Nepal Partnership Project and Oxfam.
“We have requested those who cannot afford to construct concrete latrines to defecate in a pit,” said a social worker Tulsi Thapa. Meanwhile, Rajyauda and Dola village has been declared open defecation free zones in midst of a programme on the occasion of 9th National Sanitation Week 2065. Dola village is the first model village of the district that has been declared open defecation free zone in activeness of the locals.
