Kathmandu: The locals and passers-by are facing problem due to foul smell of the leaking sewage on the eastern side of the Singha Durbar. The locals complained that the problem was not addressed despite repeated written complaints to the concerned agency including the army, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Department of Water Supply and Sewerage.

“The water supply is also polluted by the leaking sewer,” said Ramesh Sharma, a local.  The problem aggravates during the monsoon with speeding vehicles splashing dirty water on the pedestrians. The Department of Roads had started to construct a canal to prevent sewage water from getting on the road.
