Sundarijal: Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited Sundarijal Branch has stated that there is decrease in water production at Sundarijal due to malfunction at the Nepal's second hydroelectricity centre with a capacity of 600 kw in Sundarijal.

There is 45 hours load shedding in a week in the centre itself. Chief of KUKL Sundarijal Branch Juju Kaji Shrestha told that there is 60 percent decrease in water production due to load shedding and problems in the hydroelectricity centre. He informed that KUKL is supplying water once in three days in Sundarijal and adjoining areas due to decreased water production. The KUKL has been supplying water in the Kathmandu Valley by treating water from the Bagmati, Nagmati and Syalmati rivers in the area. Similarly, the KUKL draws underground water in Sundarijal using rower pumps, treats the water in the KUKL Mahankaalchaur branch and supplies the water in the Valley. Chief Shrestha told that the KUKL Sundarijal branch has been supplying water to 60 percent consumers in the Kathmandu valley.
