Boring water in Machhenarayan Print E-mail

Kathmandu: Boring water is to be supplied in Machhenarayan VDC to meet the daily water requirements of all the residents in the VDC. Construction work of a tank has been started in ward no. 9 to supply water in all the wards of the VDC. There is still no piped water supply in other wards of the VDC except ward no. 8. Boring water is being supplied through five public taps in ward no. 8. 

About 3,500 residents of the VDC use water of cesspool and pond for drinking purposes. VDC secretary Chinta Mani Acharya told that the VDC has started to construct a tank having capacity of 2 million litres to manage drinking water to all the residents of all wards of the VDC. Stating it will cost around Rs. 1.2 million to construct the tank, he told that the VDC will contribute 85 percent and consumers committee 15 percent to construct the tank. He informed that the Ministry of Finance is to provide financial support worth Rs. 1 million to lay down pipelines for supplying water to all the households in the VDC.
