Mahottari: Many VDCs of Mahottari district are reeling under acute shortage of drinking water with the onset of summer season. Muneshwor Chaudhari, a local of Ramnagar, told that residents of Gaushala, Ramnagar, Bijulpura Bardibas, Hathilet and Kishannagar are facing acute drinking water problem as water sources have dried up due to long dry-spell.

The locals have to cover a distance of 2 kilometres to fetch water. There has been limited water supply from the taps due to soaring heat. The locals complained that the concerned agency has not shown concern to mitigate water problem.
