Kathmandu: Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL) has decided to move the court against the decision made by Water Supply Tariff Fixation Commission (WSTFC) to make the water supply utility pay back the tariff it charged extra on delivering tanker water. WSTFC last month sought clarification from the KUKL on charging the tariff without its consent.

The commission also directed KUKL to return the extra tariff charged between mid-May and mid-October. “We have heard that KUKL is going to the court rather than implementing the order”, said Ratna Sansar Shrestha, member, WSTFC. “Though the KUKL denied to follow our decision, it rolled back extra charges and is charging the same old tariff set by us earlier”, he added. KUKL was charging around 29 to 35 percent extra on the delivery of tanker water supply.
