In terms of weather, Kathmandu is one of the best places to live in as far as I have known. But over the past few years, things have changed. Kathmandu isn’t the place it used to be. |

KATHMANDU, JAN 23 - Three Chinese and one Italian companies have been competing for the contract to build the Melamchi tunnel after the previous contractor abandoned the project in midstream. The 26.5-km tunnel lies at the centre of a long-standing project to bring drinking water to thirsty Kathmandu from the Melamchi River. |
