By: Durga Lal K.C. Bhaluwang (Dang): What do the people do with their earnings that they earned in their young age by fighting battles in the army? It is obvious that they spend their earnings in house, vehicle, land, property and secure their future life. But, the armies here have used their earnings in the construction of a drinking water project and a school. The retired British and Indian armies have operated a drinking water project at an investment of Rs. 4.1 million after they saw that the locals of Bhaluwang of Lalmatiya-3 have been facing drinking water problem for the past many years. The armies have provided drinking water facility to 1,023 people living in 205 households by drawing water from deep boring. Earlier, the locals of Bhaluwang have to walk for an hour to fetch water from the Rapti River. Source: Kantipur, May 8, 2009 |
